I noticed that we have very old flag pngs that don't look that nice on high res screens. I also wanted to see my opponents' flag when playing, without having to hover their names so I came up with a script that uses the lichess api and the vexillo flags in svg format. The library respects the original sizes of the flags (for example the Flag of Switzerland is square) and this is how it looks:

I can't show you the tooltip in the screenshot but if you hover the flag it displays the name of the country.
It wouldn't be very hard to implement something like this and it could be a nice feature to have in our interface. It really takes seconds to implement, my injected version is about 14 javascript lines long.
