@alerque Thanks for the new release. Will there be a CTAN upload as it used to be in the past? @khaledhosny did that himself, so I am not sure if that's on your agenda.
Hey @sleversMartin, thanks for the tip-off. I had been under the impression the CTAN packages were somebody else's bailiwick, but if the process isn't too onerous I'd be happy to take care of uploading to CTAN on new releases, I just have no idea where to start. Do you know the steps I need to take? What goes where and what info do I need to get it there?
If you want I can take care of the process. I do this regularly for my own packages.
A good starting point is the description at CTAN and the current structure of the libertinus-fonts package.
Once a new version has been uploaded, it is usually installed and available to all CTAN mirrors within two days. From there is it taken into the TeX Live and MiKTeX distributions, so that almost all TeX users can make use of the new version right-away.
The upload can only be done by authorised uploaders. Currently only @khaledhosny is registered, so he should write a short note to [email protected] allowing you (and maybe me or other volunteers) to upload. You should in fact been named as new maintainer to the CTAN team as well.

I uploaded the libertinus-fonts package which is only the OpenType fonts, the Type 1 fonts and the macro code are in separate packages that were not maintained by me
If Khaled writes the necessary letter of introduction to grant me access I'd be happy to update the OTF package, but adding Martin also sounds like a good idea. I have no desire to mess with Type 1 or LaTeX macros though, so it would be nice to coordinate with whoever is actually doing that side of things.
I think you can go ahead and upload, and mention in the note to CTAN (a field in the upload form) that you are the new maintainer and point to the issue where you stepped in.
Anyone can upload from the CTAN web page, CTAN maintainers review each upload before it gets in.
Yes, but they register who is allowed to upload and it is certainly better to talk to them beforehand.
Overall, it is quite comfortable working with the CTAN team.

I know the maintainer of libertinusand libertinus-otf Herbert Vo脽 and I am pretty sure there will be no problem to coordinate with him and Bob Tennent, who maintains libertinus-type1.
I'll try to send it through now.
