As I understand, wallpaper is disabled in AMOLED theme by design, please add an option to turn it back.

I guess you can thank COVID-19 for providing me with free time to do this ;)

Hello,

There is no point having an AMOLED theme with the custom wallpaper :)
Energy savings only work with a fully dark wallpaper.

You should just use dark mode if you want a wallpaper.

@Neamar This is the thing I want to achieve. A widget up top, AMOLED themed Search bar and Favorites bar, Neon themed icon pack, and a minimalistic Wallpaper that's mostly Black with some Neon picture in the middle. Is there a way to do this currently? If yes, please guide me through the process. If not, then please consider adding a wallpaper toggle to AMOLED theme.

@Neamar And... AMOLED doesn't just save battery with a completely black wallpaper ONLY, like you mentioned. A completely black wallpaper surely saves more battery than anything else, but mostly black with simple designs (like the one I want to use) saves more battery than LCD or traditional displays with the same wallpaper so it's not as "pointless" as you said.

Alright, I see your point!

(I think you can already achieve something fairly similar with one of the transparent theme, and with a transparent favorite bar)

@Neamar I tried. But I want the Neon-themed search bar and favorites bar. The white edges look really neat. Fully transparent bars don't look as good (they're invisible, so they don't even look like anything).

I'd really like to see this too. I like amoled mode in many apps but I dont use it in KISS because it blocks wallpaper.

Another vague idea is to add a separate amoled mode that would color the white edges with current accent color instead.

Its not quite the same, dev... I personally prefer dark wallpaper + transparent theme + transparent search & favorite bars + pitch black menu bars.

Now this can be achieved only if wallpaper is enabled in amoled mode and the menu bars are also "amoled black" to go in with the theme.

Not to have a custom wollpaper really keeps me from heaving Kiss a my only launcher. It is just a matter of design an personal taste of course.

A wallpaper is a simple way to make a phone very personal and unique. I look at my phone many times a day and I want to look at the screen feeling home and cozy.

@tasmo once again, if you want a wallpaper, your best option is to not use AMOLED -- AMoled is built to save battery, with no wallpaper.

Yes I know that every black pixel on an OLED screen is saving power consumption.

There are wallpapers which are just using some none black pixels to look gorgeous.

It is just senseless and inconsistent if you let have large bright widgets at the AMOLED theme and not wallpapers with much less none black area.

Why must this be mandatory for users? What is wrong with users deciding that for themselves?

@tasmo once again, if you want a wallpaper, your best option is to _not_ use AMOLED -- AMoled is built to save battery, with no wallpaper.

Amoled dark wallpapers also save battery !!

I'll add this back due to popular demand ;)

I'm shedding happy tears right now.... Lol

Plz make the menu bars pitch black with white outline.. (Similar to the search bar)

@Neamar How to enable this? Is there a toggle in the KISS settings? I'm still getting a Black home screen even though I have a wallpaper set.

I'm afraid this was closed by mistake. I could have sworn I did implement the feature, but I can't find it! I must have coded it in my sleep ><

Found the issue! I forgot to push the last commit. So... it'll be part of the next release :( Sorry for the delay, I messed up here for some reason.

@Neamar I see. No problem. I was just curious because the issue was closed but I didn't find the feature. 馃槄
Looking forward to the next release 馃槉
