As I have mentioned in a different topic, I believe taking into account how polymer iron-list is implemented (which is a mature well tested web component) together with what the current implementation of ionic VS is trying to accomplish might lead to a great improvement over the current solution.

I know this is just a discussion but... there are 3 pages of open "virtual scroll" issues from Ionic2+ Project. If you check only the issues with at least 20 comments, you will see there's a huge list. I humbly ask developers of Ionic to consider updating the VirtualScroll component to work without the issues before opening component to the public.

They're actively working on Virtual Scroll, but you have to wait for ionic 4.0.0
