Try updating your android/app/build.gradle file to bump google play services base & maps up to 10.2.0, then do a ./gradlew clean and try again.

I added this PR to ignite-maps to fix. Will release soon.

Something has gone bonkers with the react native packager. It's colliding with itself. When this happens, i usually shut down the packager, delete node_modules, npm i and grab a coffee.

For some reason Utilities\PixelRatio.js and Text\TextStylePropTypes.js are both trying to provide the module called Platform. I'd say try npm uninstall react-native && npm I react-native && npm dedup but I have my doubts that it will fix anything. Worth a shot anyway.

Once you've installed Google Play Services you'll need to create a new emulator.

@johntom if it says the same message, it didn't work. The emulators that come with Android Studio have the option to use Google Play Services built in.
