Guake: Toggling fullscreen to normal screen (F11) not working properly in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

Hi All,

  • Guake Version: 3.0.5 and 3.4
  • System: Ubuntu 18.08 LTS, Gnome Shell 3.28.3

I have experienced a bug in Guake since I moved to Ubuntu 18.04LTS. Sometimes, when trying to toggle from full screen to normal screen (F11) it behaves wrongly:

Steps to reproduce the bug:
1- Full Screen (Starting point):

2- Switch to another program.
3- Switch back to Guake.
4- Press F11 to toggle to normal screen.

Expected after pressing F11:

But I get instead:

Thanks

Can reproduce something similar with HEAD (does not always happen):

  1. show guake
  2. fullscreen guake
  3. hide guake
  4. show guake
  5. unfullscreen
  6. BOOM:

Has anybody found the solution to this? I am still getting the same error in Ubuntu 20.04.
Guake Terminal: 3.6.3
VTE: 0.60.1
VTE runtime: 0.60.1
Gtk: 3.24.18
