  • Gets through intros, but freezes at loading screen

_From @Voxel9 on August 2, 2017 8:54_

All intros are working fine and as they should, but the game just seems to freeze at the loading screen every time.

(^ This is the screen it freezes at)

EDIT: realized I wasn't using latest build, so I updated, but nothing is any different.

With the latest builds, this game now manages to get in-game, and in-menus! (however, there are timing issues causing it to be faster than what it should be)
Also, as seen in many other titles as of late, the intro video does not display anymore, and instead shows a black screen. The Dolby logo is nowhere to be seen anymore either.

Previous Behaviour:
Got up to loading screen before freezing; displayed intro Dolby logo/intro video.

Current Behaviour:
Gets in-game and in-menus with slightly broken graphics; timing issues.

Based on the EmuX86 warnings, it's likely there's either a missing patch, or some kind of memory corruption.

Could you please attach an Xbe dump so we can determine other factors, example: Region, XDK, weather this is a clean dump, etc

Done :) Xbe.txt

_From @LukeUsher on August 2, 2017 9:30_

Based on the following details we can conclude that this is not a clean dump.

Allowed Media : 0x400001FF (All Media)
Game Region : 0x00000007 (Region Free)

This has been dumped incorrectly using a tool that applies anti-piracy bypasses (and potentially other modifications have been made)

As we are unable to verify which region of the game was used, we cannot verify this issue. (eg: How can we reproduce if we can't acquire the exact same version that was used)

Could you please run the Xbe through this script? If these are the only changes made, this will restore it to the original unmodified state:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aimg6-g36_BgiJJcv21D4ptbmIv4XQ

Please note that if this script fails to fix the Xbe, it cannot be fixed and you'll need to dump the game again without modifications and submit another Xbe dump with a valid signature.

It says it successfully fixed the XBE. I tried again with the fixed one, but it's still the same result.

_From @LukeUsher on August 2, 2017 9:49_

It most likely wouldn't effect the emulation outcome, but with a modified XBE, we cannot verify the region and other informaton about the title you are running.

This is important becuase if we want to test/fix the issue, we need the same game as you!

Can you upload the fixed Xbe dump? That way we can update the issue with the correct region flags, and we'll look into it

May I ask what XBE_REGION_ELSEWHERE is all about? Is my XBE now valid?

_From @LukeUsher on August 2, 2017 9:58_

XBE_REGION_ELSEWHERE is the region flag of the XBE.
Xbox has four possible regions, US_CANADA, JAPAN, ELSEWHERE and DEBUG.

If XbeFix reports that your Xbe is valid, it is valid.

Loading screen is looking much better than previously reported. Menu and in-game audio is working nicely as well now. However, there seems to be some fairly large graphical regressions; textures, lens flares, and some meshes being the most noticeable.
Exiting from in-game back to menus via the pause menu causes a DSound-related error message to appear; see the 4th screenshot down.
