In searching on the ProtonMail website and various other places on the web, it seems that a URI scheme does not exist for security reasons. See this Reddit thread. I am not sure this is possible. Thoughts?

Hi there, I'm the lead iOS dev at ProtonMail. For security reasons, we disabled the external URI schema in the app a long time ago. But we have revisited this and now we are going to try to add support for external mailto. We will add it to the beta build (1.12.0) sometime next week, and comment back here when it is released to the public and can be utilized.
