TBH this could be done with MEE6 or similar but just some sort of way of directing community members to the support issue queue
Would that command return a link to the support repo?
Desired Outcome:
Those in the Discord channel OR on YouTube will actually get their issue addressed if they use the support channel.
On Discord, we should write a bit more than write an issue, we should assume that the user actually hasn't opened an issue or even a GitHub account.
Maybe there's some guide we can link to that already exists in the eddie YT library or just a 1 min explainer video on issue queue inside here.
I would welcome some better copy than this below:
Discord
<stemount> ^support @newMemberWhoShouldRaiseAnIssue
<EddieBot> hey @newMemberWhoShouldRaiseAnIssue, for speedy help, please submit your video ideas, support questions and requests to be added to the GitHub Community here https://github.com/EddieJaoudeCommunity/support/issues
This is the quickest way to get support as things get lost in Discord
YouTube
Two scenarios:
<user> !support
<WhateverBot> Raise a question, support issue or video idea here! https://github.com/EddieJaoudeCommunity/support/issues
<user> !joincommunity
<WhateverBot> Submit a request to add yourself to the EddieJaoudeCommunity over at https://github.com/EddieJaoudeCommunity/support/issues
Good points 👍 - we need to lower the barrier to entry and to reduce us repeating ourselves
I think we have a few options, we could do some of them or all of them
Initially, I was down for using MEE6 or nightbot or whatever for the simplest thing, but I actually think EddieBot having this in the code is a good thing now you have opened the PR @AllanRegush because it now allows the community to change this and we don't need to faff with settings (or be a mod, server owner, whatever) to maintain this.
I think your PR is totally fine @AllanRegush and I'd say yes to this but a new issue raised if @eddiejaoude has decided that we use GitHub Discussions? or the GitHub issue queue for the support repo going forward.
There is a tips command we could add this to?
I think using Discussions for help is better than Issues - I need to sort out docs
Oh there is a PR for that feature already, ignore my previous comment 🤦♂️
Stale issue message
New issue #198 was opened by @eddiejaoude to fix my linting suggestions however as far as i'm concerned...
