Dxvk: Feature Request: option to show current D3D feature level in DXVK_HUD

It would be really nice to have an option for the HUD which shows the current active D3D feature level.

Why? It's going to say 11_0 in 99.5% of your games and 11_1 in the rest.

And no, displaying it in the HUD is actually not trivial because the HUD technically doesn't even know what D3D11 is.

Well, there are DirectX 10 games that run under DXVK too. I agree it's not really that interesting if using Direct3D 11. The more interesting point for me is determining whether the game is using DX10 or DX11 (i.e. "did that damn DX11 checkbox work?")

You can see the feature level in the log files if you really want to.

Also, API != Feature Level. A game using feature level 10_0 could be either a D3D10 or D3D11 game.

Fair point about API vs feature level.

But it is frustrating to have to skim through logs after running tests and figure out whether I actually tested what I wanted to.

Yeah, this sounds like feature creep.

How is it "feature creep"? It's a optional debugging flag, and a couple folks at Valve (including me) would find it useful.

From what i gather the new "release" nVidia driver (410.66) shows API version between GL or Vulkan... but it does not have the latest stream_output extensions sadly.

Joking aside, its a fair request, and possibly interesting to have. Does it create too much work to be bothered doing? Well.. That is also fair enough to not have it.

"Its too much work, as i would rather spend the time fixing bugs" is a thumbs up for me... just dont make up excuses about "feature creep", or "how easy it is to grep logs" :)
