Is it possible to add custom menu item with custom view not model based because its report and doesnt have a model?

I am also looking for how to add a custom menu item to the model. I know that I can add a bookmark but how can I do it programatically?

Adding custom (not model based) links, changing labels, order, etc. features are already in dev branch. I will add docs and release these changes this week.
