  1. download crc binary, clear the security for the binary system prefs -> security
  2. crc setup
  3. crc start will hang as described in "actual"

We do not support this operating system... is that a hackintosh clone? ;-)

On start of the VM we replace the standard key with a user (machine specific one), please try crc delete before trying again. If the problem persists, let us know what the permissions are with ls -al ~/.crc/machines/crc

I've attempted install several times and always delete ~/.crc
I'll get back with the updates

we need a little bit more information. especially versions of the OS, full debug log... the listing (permissions) on the files in your ~/.crc folder.

I am seeing a similar issue..

Invalid. Known issue - VPN

accidently closed the issue for the OP as I thought @werne2j reported this.

looking at the logs and issue which @davidkarlsen faced might be because of host doesn't allow to ssh to the VM (may be vpn) and that is the reason initial ssh command failed.

@owen-sun can you try to follow what https://github.com/code-ready/crc/issues/1116#issuecomment-620388863 suggested and put the debug logs in a gist for analysis.

This is the part which I don't really understand. It should be looking up api.crc.testing on 192.168.64.2 which is the VM IP. Do you have a firewall/antivirus/.... running which could interfere with the network?

I have VPN connected, no special setting on firewall/antivirus.

As recorded in the documentation and as a known issue, VPN connectivity can interfere with the start and communication with the cluster. Also see comment: https://github.com/code-ready/crc/issues/1116#issuecomment-604619309 on this issue.

Experienced this on Fedora 30 after repeatedly creating and deleting the instance. Turned out to be a caching issue with qemu which required a restart with libvirtd.

This may be a similar issue with hyperkit.
