There are lots of clips that are just background noise where the user clicked record then stop very quickly. My theory for why these clips occur is that users want to skip the sentence but don’t know about the Skip button. I have even occasionally heard users say “I don’t want to say that” instead of the recording.
So I think the Skip button should be made more prominent. I think it should be turned into an actual button with a border and maybe a colored background and put in the top right corner of the sentence box so it’s easier to notice when reading the sentence.

Hi all, thanks for the feedback! I will say that the team was split on this decision early on: 1) put skip on the sentence card vs. 2) put skip with other controls (as it is now).
It's best to test this type of decision before making a major overall change. @Gregoor @LRSaunders can we get this tracked as an A/B test option for production? I'll work with @grailean to get an alternate UI location version ready to be implemented next sprint.
@poush thanks for this UI option, we'd prefer to look into placement changes as well as color changes, but these colors aren't quite on target with our styling. Let's hold off on this version and we'll look into an alternate blue or black fill option. :)

@LRSaunders dang, we're not tracking it in the frontend yet. We track skipped sentences in the backend though, so for listening skip has been used 5000 times in the last month.
