The exact same issue for several hours now. VPN did not appear related to the issue.
Reregistering the device under non-VPN IP made no difference.
ERROR CODE 4207, not the 4206 that people used to get up until a few hours ago.

I wouldnt be surprised if a bunch of bad actors were pommeling the service with a flock of bot attempts to join. I myself have registered in more than ample wasys demonstrating I'm not a bot.

Same issue for days, and after I added information I was not comfortable adding to hit their criteria. Bait and switch? The lack of response to bug reports (filed in app as well as this one) about this certainly leads one to be suspicious.

I had error 4206 approximately till this issue record was created, then error 4207 began to appear. Then I updated, but it didn't change anything

is this still an open and common error? because i have just checked the airdrop page and the participant number is going up. which means this error is uncommon...... right? or not...
Its still an issue for me and the participant number kept going up all through this issue.
This number behaviour is really strange, because after changing of criteria of airdrop qualification on 16.09 (there were something like 70k participants), it didn't fall down and kept going up. But at the same time, all new users who registered after 09.09 lost their "lucky airdropee" status
I think stellar lumens keybase is under some sort of social - attack, and people are trying to instal/verify XXXXXXX of accounts, and verification is now offline... just as it was a problem after first registration era...
They should tell something about the issue ...

Strange things.. meanwhile on an airdrop page numbers go up: 110,437 registered so far. Updt; 110,911 - 474 users in 9 hours... Looks like registration is working fine, this means a bug is not common.

I am also having this problem after the last keybase upgrade!
Maybe some people were blacklisted somehow.
I hope they solve it. Since I really like this app to verify PGP keys.

Just confirmed that all of our theories are false - my friend signed up, only follower was me, and they got in with zero problems, US #, no outside identifications and 3 devices. Have no idea why it didn't work the same for me, but at least I know that I've done nothing different
If Keybase can't organize an airdrop that works for all people that are eligable and never respond to a Github issue while they insist you ae part of Github, Is our data safe with them, like, at all?
I would still say yes given that their userbase is probably skyrocketing right now and I assume their team is tiny - I'm still hoping they'll fix it, but I personally haven't given them any sensitive data and I shouldn't have to for the drop I hope

i think they dont like our IP adress..this is from the fine print:
"We reserve the right to blacklist users, even after registering. If you appear to use a bot or multiple accounts to sign up for Keybase, we'll blacklist you. Similarly, _if you appear to come from fishier IP'_ s, we may exclude you."
flood gate registration is open: 126,792 128,034registered so far. compare to yesterday 122,785 registered/

Unless I got banned for registering with the same ip as my brother who is the one who told me about the app and the airdrop then I don't find any other "reasonable" explanation for this but what bothers me the most is that there's no explanation coming from the devs.
I'm wondering if deleting my account and trying again would work but I'm worried about making this even worse! Also, I have some lumens already in the wallet since I thought that might be helpful for verification (it wasn't)

I ran into this problem on a brand new account on an IP where I am the only keybase user. It appears to be an issue with the type of phone number added. I have two SMS-capable numbers: an OTT number and an MNO number. With the OTT number on my account, I couldn't join. As soon as I deleted the OTT number, leaving just the MNO number, it worked.
My guess is that the initial airdrop qualification check only checks to see if you have a verified number on your account, not what type of line it is. When you try to join the drop, it then does the db lookup and, if you have an OTT number like mine that's usually listed as a VoIP number, you get this opaque failure.
The problem also seems to occur if there is already another account that has joined Airdrop with the same number AND if you have unsubscribed from Airdrop, it is not possible to re-register with the same account and number.

I have been the major whiner of this issue and now I am IN THE AIRDROP, after trying like 100 times.
Heliosyne found the workaround, I followed his lead to test it and despite 100 previous failures under all sorts of circumstances - this works. From another country, and through another network provider. Helio's workaround is hereby successfully peer reviewed. Thanks a metric shitton, Heliosyne.

Guys now that you can get in: dont be a freeloader and flip those Lumens right around for cash. Learn about Lumens and work with them. You are offered these to be part of the XLM economy, which shows great promise also for developing nations, not at a trick to get free beer money. I only have one phone number, and I even tried using a different SMS service to see if that would help. My service provider is Republic Wireless and I am on the Wifi-only plan. I tried deleting the number and then re-adding and re-confirming via SMS. I am still unable to join the airdrop. Any advice?
Also can't join. In the US with one of the 4 major phone companies. I think it may have to do with using a VPN (at least in my case). Pretty unfortunate that there seems to be so many issues with this problem. It's hard to find any information for keybase support. I messaged the person that is supposed to be over their support but haven't heard back.

I also have VPN, but have attempted to register from non-VPN devices, every device I get the same response. Could it be trying once from VPN device got me blocked permanently? How do I prove I am real so I can participate? I have tried adding multiple identity verifications, but none has proven useful so far.

An account reset takes at least 7 days and does not help here.
My problem was solved by a new number.
I tried adding a new number and it always tell me that I have been trying to add my number too many times and to try later but I haven't and so I have waited for days and try again and it tells me the same and then I waited for like 2 days now and again it tells me the same and I still can't qualify for the Airdrop with my already confirmed number and 0 answers about what's going on :(
Any new updates? I have been on keybase for several months now and I can't get into the airdrop program either.

You have 106 comments on this issue with only 1 or 2 people claiming success out of the bunch. While I understand this is free, it is still an offering that we all would like to be a part of, qualify for, but for reasons beyond what can be understood it doesn't work. You guys haven't even assigned anyone to look at this issue and have been completely silent on the matter leaving your customers in the dark as to if or when this problem will be solved. Understand that many of us represent businesses that might be willing to invest in your efforts, IF YOU APPEAR INTERESTED IN US OR THE PROBLEMS WE FACE WITH YOUR PRODUCT.
Some feedback from you all would be helpful. Hell, acknowledging that a problem exists would be a start...
