Client: Feature request: allow other mobile apps to open files stored in Keybase

Created on 4 May 2018  Â·  4Comments  Â·  Source: keybase/client

I would like to create a mobile app that lets users open files stored in their Keybase (as long as they have the Keybase app installed on their phone), even in the private folder.

As Keybase does not seem to support that yet, I am integrating with DropBox instead. They offer several options to do this, including SDKs, a REST API and a simplified Chooser, which just adds a "Choose from Dropbox" button to the app, which then lets the user select the file to be opened from the Dropbox folders.

It would be awesome if Keybase could support the same thing.

Kbfs for phones coming shortly. It is primarily a UX issue.

showing how Go can be used on phones.

The Go code has access to the file system, but only under the Documents
folder created for the app itself. Couldn't this be used to run kbfs on
phones?

Has this been implemented in any capacity yet? I can access files through the app, but unable to open files or directories through other applications
