Client: Removing Keybase app mean I can't add any more devices again

Created on 3 Dec 2017  路  7Comments  路  Source: keybase/client

I removed the Keybase app from my phone. Now it is impossible for me to log in to the app again since it requires my phone to verify the login. There doesn't seem to be a way to remove the device from Keybase.

I'm running into this problem too, except my devices were stolen.

I have to reset completely even though I have full access to the web version?

Same issue here, reinstalled Android and I know have just one device left, the device I reinstalled. However, the private key is stored in keybase.io (and I have an offline copy of it too). But, how can I login and re-add the device? I can login on the site just fine.

I'm super confused here.

The only device listed for me is one I've just securely destroyed -- but I still have my private key offline.

How do I get back to the point I was at before I had that device associated with my account?

I have the same issue as well.

The same question is asked repeatedly here: https://github.com/keybase/client/issues/8405
The answer is always just "reset everything and start from scratch. Also, make sure you carry a 'paper key' in your wallet'" 馃槀
