From @ivanoats:
I am also seeing very high CPU usage on Sierra. I frequently have to kill keybase.

keybase
@patrickxb can you look into whether it's the same issue we've seen previously with lots of identify calls?
cc: @mmaxim there might be a gregor bug here with repeated delivery of user changes notifications
+1
I appear to be experiencing this as well, running dtruss on the process (full CLI, /usr/local/Cellar/keybase/1.0.17/bin/keybase -d --log-file=/Users/alex_gaynor/Library/Logs/keybase.service.log service): all I see is select(0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x70000722DDE8) = 0 0 over and over again.
@alex you're running an old version, and it looks like you got it via brew. We started release our on .dmg files.
This is probably an issue that the old binaries don't support Sierra well due to bugs/limitations in the old Go complier and libraries.
@maxtaco that is correct that I got it via brew -- which indicates that I have the latest release, will a PR be sent to brew to upgrade the version they have?
We're low on bandwidth and are having trouble supporting the brew release in addition to our main release. I'm not sure what we decided on it, but we were hoping that users gravitate to our DMG release.
@maxtaco I'm a bit confused; the version in brew appears to match the latest tag in this repo. Are releases not tagged here?
We've cut a whole bunch of dailies, but you're right, it's time to move up a version

This is a bit confusing for me, because the version homebrew has (1.0.17)
is the same as the version listed on https://github.com/keybase/client/tags,
are you not tagging releases in git?

Great, I'm more than happy to handle sending the PR to brew once there's a
release tagged.
