@waldekmastykarz From the looks of it, it does not appear as though we are able specify a date when declaring a record.

Possibly a rookie error, so just thought I'd call this out in case I am looking in the wrong spot.
I'm not sure if it's the same API as used by the PnP PowerShell cmdlet that I mentioned: https://github.com/SharePoint/PnP-PowerShell/blob/f05a9fcb6f9e29d7d159ca2c22eb735c331067b5/Commands/RecordsManagement/SetListItemAsRecord.cs#L40

I think we are in the same boat with this one. We may have to mimic the call made by Pnp cmdlet for record inplace management. I could not find an api to undeclare as well.
@waldekmastykarz Yep, looks like I was looking in the wrong place. Again, probably a rookie observation :) but it looks like the PowerShell and CSOM are using the same underlying libraries.
I've unpacked the calls they use and am going to use the following for implementation:
