Cinnamon: [taskbar] right-aligned window list widget items overlap panel widgets on the left

i have window list widget aligned to the right side (instead of the default left alignment)
after i open more windows the items overlap with widgets on the left side.
instead the item should shrink in size to fit window list size.

i have the same problem (did not spend a lot of time to solve it, i have to say)

how did i come so far? i removed and added the window list to the panel. after that, the problem was there. resetting to default did not solve the problem. i never wanted to have the windows on the right, it happend so...

its left aligned again and no overlapping any more

sorry guys, do not remember how i changed the alignment. probably playing with adding/removing panel applets.

is there easy way to set left/right alignment? i cannot see anything in the Window list applet's settings

There are 3 zones in the panel. You can add an applet to any of those 3. I assume you moved the applet to the zone on the right of the panel.

I have tested it for left-aligned window list items. The issue is still there.

Very annoying when disconnecting my laptop from my 2nd monitor and using my laptop's screen. Dissapointed.

Linux Mint 19.2 - 64. Cinnamon. - When opening a lot of applications, the windows get hidden under the spaces and furthermore under the status icons.

You have a left panel with the menu and pinned applications, a right panel with status icons, and a middle panel with windows. When this middle panel gets filled, it should not overlap with the right panel. It could extend vertically with multiple rows and arrows to go back and forth.
