Windows preview is showing a blank pages

Steps to Reproduce

1. Upgraded profile or clean profile 0.65.118
2. Open 2 or 3 new windows
3. Load different site in each window
4. Preview the windows by keeping the cursor on the Brave icon in the taskbar

Actual result:

Except for focused window, rest other windows preview is showing blank pages

Expected result:

Windows preview should show loaded sites in all the opened windows

@GeetaSarvadnya is there any specific STR that needs to be followed to reproduce? Does the above issue only occur when updating a profile? Seems to be working on a clean profile using the following build:

There could be two reasons for this issue

1. The opened windows are minimized. Sometimes Windows doesn't generate preview if the app is minimized while the page was being loaded
2. Active on other application and hover over taskbar open items doesn't always generate the preview. This happens quite a lot

@kjozwiak Try having them maximized. Or having another app maximized on top.

This also happens while alt-tabbing and i'm also seeing a not-sure-if-related blank screens when returning from sleep which get fixed when i minimize and maximize them up.

I think this issue is related to the alt+tab blank pages bug reported by community users.

Windows on-hover preview shows blank pages as long as the following conditions are met:

• Currently focused window is not Brave
• The focused window is maximized, thus hiding Brave from view
• Brave is not minimized

So, as long as the Brave window is visible on screen, or just minimized out of view, Windows preview will work fine.

Regarding the other bug, Brave showing all opened tabs as blank pages when alt-tabbing back to it (not sure if this merits opening another issue), I can reproduce it more or less consistently when:

• Brave browser window is on a different Virtual Desktop, and
• Windows multitasking setting for virtual desktops is to show windows that are open on only the desktop I'm using

Moreover, when this issue occurs, alt-tabbing back and forth to the Brave window several times eventually fixes the view.

I hope this information helps pin this bug.

Issue still exists in latest beta, Version 0.67.107 Chromium: 75.0.3770.100 (Official Build) (64-bit). I'm on Windows 10 1809. Unlike last commenter, alt-tabbing back and forth does not fix for me.

A side effect of this bug is that often screenshots with the new Windows "Snip & Sketch" maximised will not work with Brave Browser. To reproduce:

1. Verify that the Windows Preview is blank.
2. Run "Snip & Sketch" and maximise the window
3. Attempt to snip a part of Brave Browser.
4. Resulting screenshot is blank.

Issue with hover on taskbar icon is still active and extremely annoying especially if you constantly have a lot of windowses.

@kjozwiak The issue is Reproducible on the clean profile as well as on the upgraded profile. When multiple windows are opened hover over the mouse on the brave icon in the taskbar or use alt+tab to preview the windows. The preview shows blank windows. The recorded file is attached.

So is this a feature of _security_? ;)

Could you please prioritize the bug higher than P3?

It is really counterproductive to be unable to preview contents of browser windows while navigating OS, especially considering how many apps are _web_apps open in a browser now days, and visually searching through a mix of other app previews and Brave blanks with icons and titles is quite challenging.
