Opening Chrome's Web Inspector (right click -> Inspect element) while you're running Live Preview, throws an error which stops live updates.
It happens on Win with Sprint 17 and 18. I haven't tested other sprints/platforms.
Steps to reproduce:
Here's a screenshot of the thrown error in case you can't reproduce it.

I guess its a known issue =) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=xm9kSWZyawg#t=1749s
Also there is bug #1697 where guys want to notify user about lost connection in your case
Thanks @soswow, I thought so too, but I couldn't find anything in the issues (I was searching for something related to Web Inspector or Live Preview). I see that a solution is yet to be implemented, so I'll keep this issue open for now.
Assigned to @njx , low priority.
Changing back to "move to backlog". We have an outstanding pull request from @DennisKehrig to give a better notification to the user when this happens (which depends on functionality coming in a future version of Chrome), but the larger workflow issue of Web Inspector and Live Preview being mutually exclusive is still a problem that I think we need to figure out a better solution for long-term. We've talked to the Chrome dev tools folks about this before, and they've indicated that it's a lot of work to make a single inspector backend support multiple clients. But there might be other solutions that are worth investigating--for example, a "hot potato" approach where when the browser has focus Web Inspector is active, but when you switch back to Brackets it forces Web Inspector to close and reactivates the live preview connection.
We need to track this as a research card and think about approaching the Chrome folks again with some alternative solutions.
Captured as https://trello.com/c/Vw9YuUss. We're blocked by Chrome on fixing this the right way, but want to keep it open so we can move forward on the issue. Closing.
Is there an alternative solution except for weinre?
@FrankFang The feature linked in the comment immediately above yours is currently in progress and will likely ship in the near future. There are no other alternatives I know of.
I would love to see this issue fixed as well. Any updates since 2014?
