Brackets: Live Preview won't work

I get this error and don't know why it's happening. Deleted brackets and got it back again - still same thing NO Preview possible. Is there a fix for that or is it me :)

I've been getting this error/popup since I updated to Brackets 1.8 (build 1.8.0-17108). Works flawlessly before. Even if I switched between projects it worked every time. Now it might work randomly if I close and reopen Brackets. Mostly it dosn't.

Edit: I reinstalled 1.7, works perfectly again.
Edit2: Using Mac OS: Sierra, Chrome.

Hey usually you would need a index.html file as your default file so that brackets can detect it. Brackets also uses chrome to open your index file in live preview. I'm assuming you did all these things but I just want to make sure. If anything send me a message again so I can help you further. thanks for giving me this opportunity to help you out. :)

If you launch while looking at anything but a .html file, it usually crashes. Sometimes you can get lucky. If you launch while a .html file is at least in a pane (split window), you may not get the live highlighting with HTML, just CSS.

What I tend to do is open a HTML file, click on any element, the launch. Should work perfectly after that.

Had the same problem. You don't say OS, browser or version of Brackets. I use Linux Mint, firefox and Brackets 1.8. What I had to do was: __File_ > enable experimental live preview.__ and then open a project by: _File > Open folder_ and then select the index.html file from the left pane. Opening the index.html file directly did'nt work.
UPDATE - live preview working when writing code but crashes if the code is modified. Works again when Brackets and live preview are closed and the re-opened. Brackets also sometime creates spurious error message for the code and this disables experimental live preview.
