to close support for any software maby like glowstone but like me using a custem paperspigot but a server software like https://github.com/Akarin-project/Akarin that i use wont load because of that and some poeple wont better performance so they use paperspigot or some like me are stuck with it i respect you guys i love the work but i dont think its a good idea
Agree,
There should be a possibility to force run unsupported/incompatible versions if admins want.
F.e. add some boolean check in a config that disables system version check.
Agreed. It would however mean that we wouldnt be able to provide support for such servers.
I'll make it a warning. There are >20% servers running on PaperSpigot.
In my opinion, BentoBox shouldn't even launch on those server softwares (those who are flagged INCOMPATIBLE). Bad things may happen: data incompatibility, errors, crashes which may desync the databases...
A plugin should in no way refuse to launch just because another software than spigot is detected. That decision is only up to the admin. Letting the plugin refuse to load on some implementations implicits you consider all server admins dumb. If something isn't working, it's up to the implementation dev to fix it. A warning is fine. You might also add a disclaimer to your github issue template, that bugs need to be reproduced on spigot

I get the point here.
