Think Table Designer is just an essential must-have feature, as well as View Designer.

@VikasShinde To clarify, are you suggesting that the ability to create a new table like you can in SSMS by right clicking the Tables folder within a database and selecting New > Table... ? I would also like this feature.

@VikasShinde @cmbarnett87 I think this is Table Designer ask.

@erickangMSFT yes this is Table Designer. SQL Operations Studio is much faster than SSMS. so we need this feature in SQL Operations Studio.

I am pretty sure this is the same or similar to my issue. There doesn't seem to be any way to access the the Design for Views, unless I am just missing it entirely. Hopefully this is something that will be added soon.

Agreed. Currently, when I need to add new table or modify, I need to open SSMS and do there. I also would love to see Database and Table Properties dialog too. May be with some commonly used basic information and functionalities.

Agreed with @tslin306 @camckay and @VikasShinde. I'm using ALTER TABLE <...> to change a table's structure or CREATE TABLE to new tables, this is really annoying sometimes. I work only on Mac today and don't have other option like SSMS when i don't have Windows VM with SSMS running.

I'd say this is a much needed feature. I use macOS daily and am currently using the proprietary SQL Pro for MSSQL. It's a bit limited in features (and I do occasionally fire up a VM so I can use SSMS when doing more advanced tasks) but it's still my main SQL Server editor because it runs natively on macOS and I can edit tables in design view. I just don't find it practical running ALTER to make table and column changes. It's pretty much the only thing stopping me switching to Operations Studio.

Would be nice to be able to quickly look at schema and see datatypes, keys, nullability, just like in SSMS.
It is related to the current request, the difference is that it seems overkill to open a designer to just look at schema.
It would be less annoying to be able to expand a tree view like it is presented in SSMS.

Yes, it would be nice to add a table designer, which allows you to create or edit tables.

Definitely needed, hope this will be soon integrated.

Any idea if Microsoft is targeting this feature for 2019?

I too feel like a GUI table editor is the last missing piece that would allow me to use this app over SSMS on a regular basis.

Yeah, where I miss it most is when making a schema change that requires a table to be dropped, re-created with a new schema, filled in with all the old data, etc.

+1. this is much needed feature.

The best thing about SSMS and it is missing in ADS. Oh no.

I hate having to keep a Windows machine just for SSMS - PLEASE add this feature, guys. But above all, keep safe...

Can we can an update on if this is on the roadmap or not? It looks like the issue was requested 2.5 years ago and there is a lot of interest. It would be helpful know if this is coming or if I need to purchase a 3rd party tool to use SQL Server from my Mac. Azure Data Studio is great and I really appreciate the Mac support (and also VS Code and VS Mac) but like others have said, that missing table designer is keeping me from adopting it as my primary SQL admin tool.

Hi Marcus, yes this is planned and committed by the team. If there is interest, we could share some of the proposed designs and get feedback. @dzsquared @shueybubbles

Yes, please

@yualan Is there anything you can already share?
Really looking forward to this feature!

This came up in the UX benchmark study. Let's revisit.
