Issue Description

We started getting the error below today during our Service Fabric Deploy task. No changes were made to our release definition and deploys were working fine yesterday.

I found this link this morning, and tried toggling the "Configure Docker settings" checkbox on, save, then off and save. We are not using Docker. After that, the next deploy ran successfully. Since then all deploys have failed with the same error and toggling the Docker setting has made no difference.

I think this issue is impacting general Azure VM file copies. I posted a similar question today.

We are also experiencing this issue since yesterday. It seems coincident with a shift in the task version from 1.7.3 to 1.7.7 (but that may be unrelated, since Rick's logs above show 1.7.3 in use). We've seen similar failures on three different clusters. One of them succeeded after a single redeploy, but I've had three failures in a row on another cluster. We did also see a very similar issue with copying files to Azure Blob Storage yesterday, but that corrected itself after a retry.

The ones that eventually succeed are running on a build agent that we manage, and the ones I can't make succeed are using hosted agents, if that's at all relevant.

We are experiencing this as well using agents on VMs. We think we found a workaround by redefining the ServiceEndPoint and reassigning to the appropriate task. We are in the middle of a production release and thus far is working, however feels like a gamble. - and false. Found to not be true

The fix has been deployed and you should not see this anymore. This was due to a bug in task caches that we maintain - whish has been resolved.
