I realize it wasn't supported a year ago, but is it supported now?

@pvanroos - Thanks for your question. Table storage does not currently support authorization with Azure AD. So no, you cannot access Table storage with a managed identity.
Why on earth is authorization with Azure AD/Managed Identity not supported for Table storage, when it is supported for blobs and queues? Do you realise that this makes it look as if Microsoft are not committed to helping developers keep their use of Azure secure?
The whole table storage seems to have fallen out of love ever since the ownership has been transferred to CosmosDB team. It is indeed disappointing that AAD RBAC is not supported for table storage. 👎🏼
I agree with @softveda . What are you doing, Microsoft? The current approach and attitude to Managed Identity is an inconsistent mess. Very disappointing.
Storage Tables should provide Managed Identity support under enterprise support. The service is not deprecated and security measures Azure is taking so seriously have not been cancelled. I suggest targeting the engineering team with the feedback as content authors are not the ones who roll features out.
@SeanFeldman - Yes, thank you, that is the right suggestion. The engineering team does not necessarily see feedback that is provided in this forum. This forum is meant for documentation issues only. For feature requests, it's best to reach out to engineering directly.
In the case of managed identity support for Tables, this is work that would now be done by the Cosmos DB team, not the Azure Storage team.
