Azure-docs: Word "Sync" in several version(s) means?

Created on 14 Jan 2020  Â·  4Comments  Â·  Source: MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs

Before version 1.1.557.0, it indicates name of sync tool as [Azure AD Connect sync]. Is some version(s) anything different than [Azure AD Connect]? A bit confusing occurs.

@XhellarchX Thank you for your query. We will investigate and update this thread.

@XhellarchX The Azure AD connect as a product comes with multiple internal parts like sync engine , Management console , Configuration manager etc. The word "sync " refers to the Sync engine component where-ever mentioned. And sometimes customers use Azure AD Connect and Sync or Sync Engine interchangeably which denotes the primary task for the product which is to sync objects from on-premise to the Azure AD tenant . Hope this clarifies your query. We will close this issue now. In case you have any further queries, please tag me to your reply.

Thank you.

I understood that the product itself is called "Azure AD Connect" and "Sync" means some specific components which is implemented depends on version value.

Thats correct .
