Azure-docs: Alert through email / Azure Monitor?

Created on 3 Dec 2018  Â·  2Comments  Â·  Source: MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs

What's your recommended way of triggering alerts to email, sms or similar, when AADDS is having trouble?

Does not mention alerts. If you manually have to go into the GUI and check status yourself, it's per definition a monitor, not a alert.

For now I've created a Log Analytics Workspace, connected the Resource Group where AADDS resides, plus all resources I could connect (Not the AADDS itself, which would be kind off great), and created alert rule for all event which is not informational (error, alert).

AAD-DS has email notifications for alerts that have critical or warning severity. This feature is only available for those on a resource manager virtual network.
