@PumpkinClarinnet Resetting Remote Desktop configurations using Set-AzureRmVMAccessExtension cmdlet adds the Virtual Machine Access (VMAccess) Extension to a virtual machine. VMAccess Extension is used to reset the administrative password and this should be immediately changed after logging into the machine.

Hello Micah and Karishma,

Please find below my analysis:

• reset only configurations from Portal will enable RDP inside the Guest OS
  and add a global Firewall Rule to Remote Desktop to use default port 3389

In case there RDP port is another one it will still create the firewall rules to port 3389 (btw)
