Azure-docs: KUBE-LEGO is deprecated

Created on 15 Mar 2018  ·  5Comments  ·  Source: MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs

When you helm install KUBE-LEGO you get the following message:

NOTE:
kube-lego is in maintenance mode only. There is no plan to support any new
features. The officially endorsed successor is cert-manager
https://hub.kubeapps.com/charts/stable/cert-manager

The doco should be updated to show how to use cert-manager

@AronT-TLV - thanks for the issue / suggestion.

We are tracking this and intend to update the doc. At current time cert-manager includes a note stating:

This project is not yet ready to be a component in a critical production stack

Based on this, and comparing the experience between the two, we went with kube-lego for the short term.

Update to cert-manager to follow shortly.

@neilpeterson : what is the simplest way to run ingress with kube-lego and with self generate certificate (not with Let's Encrypt integration) ?

@wlodekb - sorry, I do not know the answer to this. I would start with the NGINX Ingress documentation.
