This is both a suggestion and a discussion on the name of the client.
When I hear "AntennaPod" I think of a radio player/podcast app. I think other people get either that impression or the impression that it is only a radio app because of the word "antenna" being first in the name. Yes, the word "pod" is there but its not
I don't think AntennaPod will ever get internet radio playback added so perhaps we need to consider a new name without the word "antenna" since this is strictly a podcast client.
What does everybody think? If the devs don't care to discuss this, go ahead and close it. Just wanted to see if anybody has similar thoughts.
For me, personally, this is a no-go. Changing a well-known app's name not only confuses users but also increases the possibility for fraud.
@ByteHamster You make good points, but I think AntennaPod is on the verge of a massive revamp by the time it gets to 2.0, looking at the commits so far, and I think that will propel it into a whole new level of popularity, so it wouldn't be totally be out of the question to have a brand new name.
Just wanted to point this out since I've thought this for the longest time and recently somebody asked me if Antennapod did both radio and podcasts because of the name.
Simply put, renaming the app will do us more bad than good.
@mfietz Fair enough. Just wanted to bring up the discussion since nobody else has discussed it yet.
