App version: Commit: b1bb29ddc
Android version: 8.0 official
Device model: Nexus 5x
this also happens on e7c69534 on a Nexus 6p
Also happens to me on 657a91b036aa86d94734f8b0ef88a036ec5a48a5. Device is Nexus 5X running Android 8.0 official.
Could have to do with these new usb headphones that are apparently supported now.
I am getting this too, also spontaneous playback start for no apparent reason (maybe network change?)
the only reason I can think of is that antennapod receives an event like "(un)pause button pressed" or "headphones reconnected" and decides to resume playback
I also have this issue: spontaneous playback start for no apparent reason. Device is Nexus 5X running Android 8.0 official.
Can someone provide me with a logcat? In particular, I'd like to know which events antennapod receives when the charger cable is connected (and whether we can distinguish between actual headphone and charger)
Hi,
Can confirm this strange phenomenon on a 5x with official stock AOSP on latest security patches and most recent AntennaPod play version.
Already disabled "Headphones disconnect", "Pause for interruption" and "Resume after call" options with no avail.
Playback just starts up seemingly randomly, even in DND mode. Not using any headphones or BT devices.
Only streaming podcasts, not downloading any.
Might have something to do with a state change (wifi to mobile, charging to full, etc.), but I was not able to exactly pinpoint it yet.
I pulled a logcat that should include the time period when such an unsolicited playback occurred, but I can't seem to be able to find anything relevant.
Any hints on what to look for?
did you pull that logcat from a release or a debug version?
Our release builds don't contain logging.
D'oh. Pardon my ignorance.
Going to compile from source on the weekend then. Or is there a precompiled debug version of the current git readily available somewhere?
Also getting this error on Google Pixel on Android O. I can't provide with a log, sorry. I've seen it many times, but I can't pin down to an external cause like plugging in the power. Sometimes it just starts playing in my pocket. I just noticed the behavior now while it was sitting on my desk unattended. In the settings menu I have all options under "Playback" turned off except "Headphones Disconnect" and "Keep Skipped Episodes".
Also getting resumed after usb connected as charger.
These daily builds has no debug version anymore.
Android version: 8.1.0 official stock rom
Device model: Nexus 5x
@schemacs These are not really daily builds.
I believe this was fixed with 1.6.4.4 - was it not?
@mfietz Thanks! I uninstall the 1.6.4.1 from Fdroid, and install 1.6.4.4 from Google Play store, then everythings work fine, no auto resuming any more.
Do others still have the problem with the latest version (1.6.4.4)? @rattkin @dloman @alanorth @kevinmarks @musuruan @h45rd
If not, ready to close?
Have not been using the app lately after some rather embarrassing situations due to the bug.
Put it back into the rotation now and will report back.
Re-installed today after reading that there is a potential fix. Will see
if it re-appears.

I no longer have issues with the latest versions.
As there don't seem to be any issues with the latest version, I'm closing this for now.
Comment if you still see issues and I will re-open this issue.
