It would be cool to have backlinks listed, or even some sort of network graph to be able to easily navigate between the Zettles.
Heya,
what do you mean by a listing of backlinks?
A network of different Zettels is already on my list. It won't be possible before 1.0, but it'll come some day!
Backlink: a list of all files, which has a link to the current page.
Ah, you already have this: If you follow a link somewhere, all files are automatically searched for all files that link to the file you've already opened! :) I.e. all files that are shown after the automatic search finishes do link to the file you just opened!
Ouh ouh ouh, btw, I just closed the issue (not that you wonder!) because of two things: The backlinks are, as I said, already visible by searching for the file. And the network graph is something that will be implemented at a later date, because it involves some massive computations (if you are interested in how this works, have a look at multiple correspondence analysis or network analysis) — so I'll postpone this for now. But as I want this myself, it's not forgotten! :) I only have somewhat of a tidying-up neurosis …
And to request a 'callback' can you direct me to that issue, which is about the netwokr graph?
A nice example of using backlinks is e. g. http://roamresearch.com/
Yes, I've seen it gaining a lot of traction at the moment. I'll have a look, but only when I have time, currently it's one of the scarcest resources!
Thanks for your fantastic work, @nathanlesage
I think the backlink is super important, and network graph will also help us see the near and far connections of notes.
A recently markdown editor has already incorporated backlink and network graph in it. https://obsidian.md/
