Youtubecenter: Youtube Center not working on Chrome with TamperMonkey

In the last week or so, either a chrome update or youtube updated caused YoutubeCenter to stop functioning correctly on Chrome. When I visit the youtube homepage, videos don't load the preview image and the console is full of TypeError: window.matchMedia is not a function. Visiting a video page doesn't load anything visible beyond the youtube title bar, followed by an expanse of white nothing. The console is full of TypeError: window.matchMedia is not a function here as well.

I was unable to reproduce the error in Firefox. I'm running Chrome version 55.0.2883.95, and Tampermonkey version 4.2.7, YoutubeCenter version 538, installed as a userscript.

Notice the bottom right corner running man icon? That's because you are using the Material Layout YouTube is testing, which YTC is most certainly not compatible with. You can click on that man to exit the testing or disable YTC if you want to keep using the new layout.

@Yonezpt But I tried it on Tampermonkey using the old layout, as well, and it still wouldn't work. I don't have a screenshot, but I know that using the extension version works.

@ireun I tried to install the userscript, but Tampermonkey failed to parse it. Strangely, though, it seems to work on Violent Monkey.

This issue should be closed it is clearly only a single user who does not even understand that he enabled the material layout or how to turn it off. Thumbs up to that answer and do not have a single TM on Chrome system that's not working perfectly. How can it possibly be a YTC or TM issue if the masses report that it is working? It's kind of like being "kind of" pregnant at that point if the script on TM Chrome is in fact working for ANYONE, LOL.
