Xmrig: Argon2id support for trtl

Hello,

I’m not sure if someone has already opened up an issue about this (I don’t see myself trying to look for such a post).

Is argon2id support being worked on? I want the official xmrig to support it, I don’t want to use any forks.

+1 For both Argon2id Turtlecoin Chukwa and Chukwa variant WRKZ (Chukwa lite, currently ~ 2Mh/s nethash)

I'm not sure, new algorithm is not cryptonight variant and not RandomX variant.

brandonlehmann I’m trying to avoid using a fork for several reasons:
1) More likely to be abandoned compared to using the real deal
2) Might have reduced performance
3) Might be less secure

xmrig i heard they’ve got a argon2id test in the dev branch of the turtlecoin repo. (To see how your setup might perform with the new algo). Maybe try seeing what pool they’re using there?

Scheduled for v3.1 (next minor release), algorithm name will be argon2/chukwa, I still have bad feelings about it, many coins want own miners and Turtlecoin is not exception, but I got a lot of requests for support it, so lets add second non-cryptonight algorithms family.

Argon2 ready in dev branches for CPU miner and proxy, I will make release in 1 or 2 days.

Notes

• Algorithm names: argon2/chukwa and argon2/wrkz.
• Config file is compatible with v3.0, miner will add new CPU profile with name argon2.
• Auto-configuration usually will use all available threads, because of small memory requirements of selected algorithm params.
• Algorithm switch on fork will work only if pool support algorithm negotiation, so if you not use https://turtle.hashvault.pro/en/ please contact to your pool support.
