I've ported amCharts QuickCharts to UWP, but unfortunately I don't have the time to bring them to the Toolkit standards.

So, if anyone is up to the task and, provided Toolkit leadership approves, I'd love if someone could take on the challenge. I will try to help as much as I can, but I'm afraid that if I lead this it will never happen :)
@ailon i will take a look at those.. i am sure others will too.. like the idea of bringing charting into the toolkit
@hermitdave I thought the same, but given my recent run of successful PRs, decided to wait on this one :D
lol.. I do remember a recent discussion regarding wanting charting controls
This is impressive!
But for now I would like to hold on this one. At this time the engineering teams are working on ways to enable charting for UWP apps in a few different ways. Prior to integrating into this project we’ll defer that decision until our investigations in this area finalize. We want to be mindful of what is endorsed in the ecosystem around this area and other data visualization efforts
@deltakosh thanks and that's fine. Very "corporate" comment though ;) I assume you are referring to Power BI integrations or something along those lines? I don't think it addresses the same scenarios, but it's clearly hard to decipher from your comment. In any case, the charts are available whether within or outside of the Toolkit.
I'm not a "corporate" person most of the time. I just want to be sure that I won't need to refuse a PR or even worse to deprecate your code because an official uwp charting control is available.
I definitely think that the community can bring awesome controls or helpers(and let's be honest: this one is awesome) but sometimes I need to play the bad cop just to ensure that the overall uwp story is clear and consistent:)
I would love to give you more info but I can't for now. I promise to keep you posted as soon as possible
@ailon I think we're just trying to adhere to some of the principles and ensure that we aren't duplicating some efforts and have to change things later. Thanks for understanding for a bit more time.
@timheuer @deltakosh my issue would be that anything that comes from MS as part of the actual SDK will likely only target the latest and greatest, leaving those targeting older versions of the platform without anything. I think this is where the toolkit could fill the gap, rather than look at it as toe treading :)
@ScottIsAFool reasonable assumption given past history. I think you'll find we're challenging ourselves these days on this front.
@timheuer I wait to be dazzled ✨ :)
@timheuer @deltakosh sure, I understand. Hopefully you have something to share at the summit. Luckily I didn't write this from scratch ;) It was mainly an exercise to see how long it would take to port.

At the end of the WinRT XAML Toolkit's home page I provide links to other related open source and commercial libraries worth checking out. Perhaps UWPCT could do the same or even include samples of controls from these libraries in the app so that even without including the source of this cool new library - people who check out UWPCT could see where they could find more stuff and see the richness of the platform.
Clsoing this one as now we have the solution to use telerik charts:https://github.com/telerik/UI-For-UWP
LiveCharts started as an alternative to expensive charting frameworks, it has a MIT license and the UWP version has some issues but WPF version is close to 1.0, this means UWP will have more love soon, in case some one is interested.
Awesome! Does it mean I can finally stop "supporting" the Silverlight Chart in WinRT XAML Toolkit and redirect people to https://github.com/telerik/UI-For-UWP ? :)
Is it rendered with XAML or DX?

@beto-rodriguez looks awesome. I cannot find the UWp version on nuget. Is it expected?
https://www.nuget.org/packages/LiveCharts.Uwp/ but I do not recommend you to use it for now
ok:) I checked your repo this looks really promising
Please keep us updated when this will become available for UWP
