The issue with & being incorrectly untranslated for Japanese has been reported to the machine translation tool team. Unfortunately it will take some time (probably months) before it is likely to be fixed.

Somewhat miffed to hear how long it will take ... but better late than never, I presume.

@illfated the reason is will take some time is that the engineers who are investigating are new to the MT process. They are actively investigating it but there are many steps to machine translation which includes multiple tools so it's not easy to diagnose where the problem lies. Hopefully it will be fixed sooner, as well as the other issues caused by MT.
