Is this repo being maintained? I see that no PRs were merged since december 11 2019
Web Whatsapp changes continuously and requires this package to be actively maintained.
Luckily the community is proposing good fixes to the problems that arise, so almost no work from the maintainers is required to fix things, but some is required to test and approve those fixes. If it isn't the plan to keep at least merging fixes, please let us know and maybe open a request for maintainers, or explicitly say that it's no longer maintained so the community can use a fork as the new "official" WebWhatsAPI, because there are many of us who actively use it and need it.

Hi all,
If anyone wants to take on this responsibility of becoming the head maintainer of a fork then please let me know.
I have set up a GitHub org called open-wa to which I transferred my own project (sulla-hotfix which is a hard fork itself after lack of maintenance on the main repo). The goal is to have all efforts in Whatsapp reverse engineering under one roof/directory. The aim is to have an open-wa library for each language with similar functionality between languages. E.g:
open-wa/wa-automate-nodejs (done already)open-wa/wa-automate-pythonopen-wa/wa-automate-goopen-wa/wa-automate-phpDespite being under the open-wa banner, maintainers will be given their due credit for their hard work and time spent (i.e this org is heavily maintainer friendly). At the same time no repo under this org will go stale due to change in prioritization of maintainer (people have lives and move on to do other things and that's fine). Maintainers will be encouraged to find replacements and collaborators if they need to take a break and original project creators like @mukulhase can contribute based on their availability. I think I speak for all of us that the most frustrating thing about open-source is unreliable maintainers on a major (possibly business-critical) project like this. With Whatsapp changing daily, these types of projects can't be left to rot.
So if you're confident in your python skills and are willing to put in the effort then please contact me at [email protected]

I love that idea!
I made a repository but it is based on ADB and is still very conceptual, could it be included as well?

As long as it's clear its WIP then I don't see why not. Although not my preferred way to automate WA, using ADB with genymotion is an interesting angle. (Although maybe more work should be done on dockerizing an AVD in a stable way with WhatsApp onboard, genymotion is expensive). Maybe the project can be open-wa/wa-automate-via-adb-python
Give me a ping via email. @riquedev

Today is what I use for some things haha, it works well and you are right, it makes the cost much higher.
Where can I find your email?

Hey, good news!
We moved this package to its new roof, open-wa, it's already fixed for everything I could find, and its improved with many new features, so see you there!

This is amazing! Glad you're keeping this project alive!
Will be happy to contribute to the new repo.
I've stopped merging PRs for a while. If anyone would like to volunteer for maintaining this repository. Do reply here. I can add you as a collaborator.
i want to be a collabarator
Thanks for volunteering! I have added you, I would prefer a previous contributor. Will wait till end of week. @marcelomaia @mrodal @smashah
I really didn't like the idea of restricting users by imposing a license key in open-wa/wa-automate-python
