Webdriverio: WDIO launch causes firefox 47 to crash

The problem

FF46 has been super reliable with WDIO 4.0.7. FF upgraded itself to 47 today and now FF crashes when I start my test. Has FF47 changed the way it launches maybe?

Environment

  • WebdriverIO version: 4.0.7 (also tested 4.0.9)
  • Node.js version: 4.4.5
  • Standalone mode
  • OSX 10.11.5 MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
