At Gitcoin, We <3 Bots.

Checkout all the fun bots we've done before:

This is a bounty to create more Gitcoin Bots in new interesting scenes & styles for Devcon V.

Pricing

i'll pay 35 DAI per artwork that looks as though some effort was put into it, up to 100 DAI if i really really love the piece (at my discretion). if budget is a constraint for you, reach out to me here (or [email protected]) and well take it from there.

i'll pay for 2 bots per person. if you submit 2 bots and i LOVE them i might ask you to do more.

How to apply

Use the 'start work' feature on Gitcoin to apply. Please post your portfolio when u apply

Checkout the bot design illustration guide and also this guide; Also checkout the bots that have been done in the past

Please place you bot & scene into a hexagon format, just like these example bots.

Please submit your work as an svg file.

Requested Styles for the Bot

In the the past we have requested bots that were influenced by characters in pop culture. This time we're doing something different, we're looking for things are Japanese origin to go on the bots.

japanese style examples

a list of things that you could put into the art:

1. Nooodleeeees / Ramen
2. Fish / koi fish
3. Typical japanese minimal brush strokes
4. Japanese stamps/watermarks but I saw that devcon website did it so I am departing this idea
5. A play on the famous Great Wave of Kanagawa made by Katsushika Hokusai, it is also a meme nowadays
6. Origami
7. MInimal line art, a mix of black lines and the red rising sun
8. temples
9. samurai
10. anything local that locals love but tourists have not yet discovered.

additional comments

i know that some of these styles are incompatible with the line-based structure of the bot. please feel free to experiment with recreating the bot in a specific style. heres an example of someone taking the gitcoin bot & breaking the style guide, and it coming out really well:

i think that having a few more kudos that are of Robots and Kaiju (monsters) fighting over the skyline of Tokyo/Osaka (like in pacific rim) would be cool...

if you google "kaiju fighting over japan" that ll yield plenty of inspiration... i think your work has been really good so far so im sure youll crush it! i guess my only ask is "make the bot thats fighting look like the gitcoin bot"
