Expected & actual behavior
I have "Open links in background" enabled so I would expect clicking links in Gmail to open in the background. Instead Chrome takes the foreground. Worked fine when I changed the default browser to Safari, so it's possible something in Chrome changed with version > 69, because things used to work.
Steps to reproduce
Click a link in Gmail using the versions documented.
Is the bug persistent or intermittent?
Persistent
Additional information
This is likely a Chrome issue or something with my machine, but checking to see if anybody else has the issue or if there is a workaround.
Could you tell me how you have set the "Open links in background"?
Is it in chrome or wavebox and if so where did you set it?
Thanks, I'm seeing the same here both with chrome 69 and 70.0.3538.22 on the beta channel. Not seeing it with Safari or Firefox.
The issue has been reported to Google and they've triaged it so hopefully, there will be a fix for it soon. https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=854609. If you want to draw more attention to it with Google, give the issue a star :)
I'll stick the more-info tag on it - just to remind me to check back shortly to see if Google have patched it :)
