First thank you for your great work on the GUI.
I just want to add more information about the issue.
I can replicate the problem if I choose folder that already exist and set "Overwrite target folder if it exist" to true.. everything else as default.
I am expecting it should be OK to use existing folder if we choose to overwrite it.
If I check the target folder, package.json file is created.

So it seems the cli wasn't able to delete the folder. Could you try with vue create folder-name -f?
I resolved it by increasing the RAM
My issue was I was running a command in a previously deleted directory which I had recreated, but my bash session was still in the old version of that directory.
