Vscode: Publisher name in package.json

Use Case
An extension needs to be shared without publishing on VS Code marketplace and there should be a publisher name. publisher field is not very useful here because it contributes to extension ID.

Problem
Not able to show publisher name in vscode installed extension, publisher shown instead.
Tried with author field as well, Seems it has nothing to do with publisher name.

Required
Please provide a way to add publisher name in package.json
