This bug is still present on the code snap package (version: 5763d909, revision: 33) running on Ubuntu Desktop 20.04. I'm using ibus-unikey as my Vietnamese IME, Vietnamese characters aren't being inserted.

@joaomoreno I've installed the insiders snap(269f0fdd) but unfortunately I can still reproduce this issue under GNOME/Wayland, GNOME/X11, and KDE/X11 sessions (Ubuntu 20.04).

Unfortunately I still can reproduce this with Visual Studio Code - Insiders(c828a533).
I'm using Ubuntu 20.04, Gnome 3.36.3 and IBus.

IME works on fcitx, but doesn't works on ibus

In version 1.47.1 (https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/commit/485c41f9460bdb830c4da12c102daff275415b53), Japanese input using fcitx is no longer possible.
In version 1.47.2 (https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/commit/17299e413d5590b14ab0340ea477cdd86ff13daf), fcitx works again. just temporary

This problem also happens on Skype if installed via snap. Reinstalling with APT solves this problem likewise.
