Feature Request:
Current:

Reasoning
At the moment, it is only a 'few pixels' tall, and can take a second to grab to make sure a file isn't pulled off instead. This can really slow down productivity, especially if you have many files open on a small screen and need to constantly switch between them.
Please provide a larger screenshot so that I can understand what scrollbar you mean.
The horizontal scroll bar below the tabs indeed need to be taller.
Definitely yes, and I also feel vertical bar on the main editor should be bigger (or just easier to catch). I though huge VS bar is funny, but I kinda see it's merits now.
So is it possible to make those bar sizes customizable?
Im working with 2 of my friends to resolve this issue
want this feature very much.
Also, can the horizontal slider become not so transparent. I can hardly find it when I open to many files.
Could also use either a bigger scroll-bar or other improvements to make using the tabs easier to move amongst, such as the active tab always showing the 'dirty/close' indicators, arrows on one end to control the tabs (aka Excel's tabs) or auto scrolling when the mouse is near either edge. I use UHD screens and the bar is very tiny, hard to grab with a mouse.
also wait for this improvement! It is quite hard to click on this so slim scrollbar. Please provide a kind of customization for that. Thanks in advance:)
+1 Even just doubling the size of the horizontal scrollbar would help this point of friction. Driving me nuts every day.
Has this change applied to master?https://github.com/up201503995/vscode/commit/c878e00432c351083569e7f5e0e6d454399e22b7
Because it is still small and not easy to click on the scrollbar.
Another vote for adding an option to adjust the horizontal tab scrollbar. It's pretty difficult to grab and I end up dragging the tabs around instead of the scrollbar most of the time.
Also seeing a number of requests for this in other related issues. Looks like a commit was made above back in Nov 2017, but it either never made it into the release or it's still unresolved.
Our commits weren't added to master and we didn't know why. We were successful in making it bigger, but maybe the way we did it, wasn't the right way, so the commit got rejected. If you guys are trying to to do this, we were able to change some css like values to make it bigger, you just have to be lucky and patient to find the right variables.
It's not much of a workaround but using your scroll wheel while hovering over the tab bar works too.
Noticed this as well. It helps. Now all we need is the same functionality
for the bottom horizontal scroll bar. 😁👍

While this is relatively straightforward from introducing a setting, we are currently missing a way for updating options for existing scrollbars it seems. If someone wants to look into this, a PR is something I would look at if implemented well and with minimal code. It involves:
I'm closing the related issue I filed (https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/91952) but I'd like to recommend in addition to making the scrollbar taller so that it can actually be used, I'd also recommend adding standard < Left, Right > arrows at the end of the tab strip. See the Firefox browser for how to properly implement scroll arrows on tab bars.
A new setting landed to control this for editor tabs and breadcrumbs: "workbench.editor.titleScrollbarSizing": "large"
