To me, it doesn't make sense that while I can connect to a server in the same window, I can't disconnect in the same window. The only way to return to my home machine is to close the folder, close the connection, and restart VS Code. I've attached a gifv showing what I'm referring to.
Is there a more elegant way to do this?

This just looks like a png but I think I understand, you want a way to turn a remote window into an empty local window.
That’s correct. I don’t think having to close folder and quit the program
is the best ux.

It might be faster to open a new window (file menu or cmd+shift+n) then close (or ignore) the previous remote window.
I think you're right, but I don't think this is the best method going forward. Simply from a UX perspective it doesn't make much sense.
