Vscode-live-server: ritwickdey.LiveServer not working

ritwickdey.LiveServer this is the extention am using on my vscode, this live server is not working.
kindly help me as i am new to vs code

Thank you for your help,
I tried five server but sorry to say from almost 1/2and hour it is showing
Going live but it didn't show. Could you help me more please? As am totally
new to Vs code and the extension

Have you uninstalled the old Live Server?

Just to test:

Can you make a new folder www on the desktop
add the index.html (see below)
open the folder www with VSCode
click on Go Live

  <head>
    <title>HTML Test File</title>

  <body>
    <h1>It works!</h1>
  </body>

Yes, it is working now. Thank you so much for helping me.

But can you please explain me why didn't it work before? So that I can get
a clear picture of where I was lacking.
Why it started with the normal HTML file first.

Could be many things. I can't say for sure.

Were your files on a USB drive?
Or a cloud drive like One Drive or Dropbox?

Do you want to share your projects so that I can have look?

Sure, actually I took a video of but it's a long one so could tell me how
else can I show you what problems am facing

Thanks, but that's not possible for me as am not a YouTuber. Anyways if you
have your YouTube channel also if you have updated anything related to this
five server do let me know I'll check it out.
