Vscode-cpptools: Feature request: Make c_cpp_properties.json support input and command extension

I would like to be able to use inputs and command within the c_cpp_properties.json in order to have parametrized configuration based on a key-value file, such as the described in https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=rioj7.command-variable#file-content-key-value-pairs and the question I put in stack overflow:

I want to have VSCode as my main Embedded enviroment and this would be an amazing feature to have.

Thank you for your feature idea. We may not be able to implement it immediately, but we will track the community reactions to determine where this might fit into our backlog. And we're open to pull request contributions if this feature can added via changes to our open source TypeScript component.
