I can't repro this on 1.22.2. Are you seeing this only on insiders?

I'm getting this on insiders also - seems to be after any command using : causes the cursor to lose focus

Yup. : causes the cursor to lose focus in the newest insiders version. I can reproduce this both on mac and windows.

After running :w run Ctrl-p then Esc

Confirmed on Insiders 1.23.0

Same issue when you use :<line number> . The correct line gets highlighted, but the cursor is gone. Calling up the command pallet (⌘+P on Mac) will make it re-appear. Basically I guess the editor component looses focus.

As per https://github.com/VSCodeVim/Vim/issues/2578, this is a regression in insiders. I'll close this issue in lieu of #2578 and we'll use that to track the upstream issue. Thanks for reporting the issue!
