Now, I initially believed this was always a thing you could do, but celt is saying bug report so here goes

What happened

A traitor shaft miner sent a singularity to centcomm via the cargo shuttle

What was expected

The singularity to not get to centcomm via the cargo shuttle?

What happened

2 hours of the singularity rampaging across centcomm because all the admins on at the time were either AFK or didn't quite care

I've messaged said shaft miner to ask how he dunnit, but he is offline at the time of me writing this bug report, assumed he did it through simply a PA aimed at a singularity generator on the MoMMI-nest side of the cargo shuttle

It's not a feature what are you talking about. If central command was isolated on a Z level that'd be fine but we're talking the Z level of the spawn, the emergency shuttle, the wizard's den, the syndicate base, the vox shuttle, the metaclub beach, etc etc etc

It is pretty important that we not allow people to launch the singulo at vox shuttle or syndies.

Remove feature and adds exploitable

@gbasood if that's a problem then we should fix it with singulo shields around the shuttles, not by removing this feature.

What are the odds that someone will send a singulo to the Centcomm Z-level before the wizard/nukeops/vox leave anyway?

Yeah if a singulo is sent to CC I think enough shit is going down. And if it DOES happen the admins should just delete the singulo if it comes too close to the shuttles.

But in the event that occurred, the 3 admins that were on at the time didn't give a shit, or weren't there for the entire fiasco

@Probe1 I'm honestly amazed people didn't know about it.

Also sending a singulo is a fuckload of effort and can end VERY badly (read: bans because the station is now being eaten), so I doubt it.

I knew about it and assumed it was no longer possible.

In fact I tried about a year ago and it didn't work so I wrote it off.

There's no reason it _wouldn't_ have been possible.
In fact I myself attempted to do it using a bagularity during a round where the station seceded from Centcomm, but failed because it was after bagularities were removed and before they were readded.

Funfact: Once this feature was removed, but then readded because another coder wanted it back

Upside: It's hilarious

Downside: It might not actually be hilarious the 100th time.

How about we remove it _when_ people do it enough for it to be a problem, instead of preemptively removing it because we assume they will?

If it was purposefully re-added, as @Killette2 claims, then it's not a bug.

This has been a thing for fucking ages and I don't know of a single instance where it resulted in anything other than funny Centcomm messages or lag.

Proofs needed. I distinctly remember it being not possible.

@DrCelt I don't consider it abusable because it doesn't have a big impact. If it happens the admins will probably realise in time and delete it if they feel it could damage the shuttles or the ERT room.

If Celt thinks it's too abusable I'm with him.

If a cargo tech sends me a singularity then I'll send him one back.

@PJB3005 It destroyed the emergency shuttle, cargo shuttle, and I think a great deal of Centcomm during the round this issue reported.

No big deal really if an admin with build mode is on, they can reconstruct a shuttle in seconds. But if there isn't or the admin doesn't know how, it'd be a loooooooooong job to fix.

Pretty sure the game spawn point returns on singulo act.

Isn't the 'spawn prep room' in the middle of the welcome screen?

It'd be pretty sucky to spawn in dead, or with a burst lung

Yes, this is a known thing by some, and it was done a month or two ago. That time admins were AFK too.

I think it should be kept, safeties taken and violators violated.
Was the metal foam grenade way of entering Centcomm ever fixed?

I've known about this particular issue for probably since before I even became a coder, it's fairly well known. I doubt we'll ever patch it unless people start doing it to be dicks.

Some sort of bigger alert when it's on Z level 2'd be nice, like bwoinking all admins 'HOLY FUCK THERE'S A SINGLO LOOSE ON CENTCOMM, IT'S GONNA EAT SPAWN AGAIN'

make a new separate issue for that so people see that. no ones reading ancient issues for the discussion they don't know took place.

That's the thing. The issue in question, the only admins on were AFK or Manaony, who doesn't give two shits about anything happening, and is basically Mini-Soca but not as fun
